Healdsburg Guesthouse

Healdsburg Guesthouse

Top down on the roadster, gucci loafers hitting pedal to the metal for wine country.  Tyler and Jeffrey need a break from the work week and from those relentless art openings and basement parties, socializing from dawn to dusk.  Old time besties have invited them up from the city for the weekend.  A certain kind of man requires few provisions when heading off to quieter places.  LV tote strapped to the trunk, their compass just got calibrated for wine country, and our Sonoma Guesthouse.

Nestled in the vineyards of Healdsburg, our guesthouse is a restful escape with a balance of family heirlooms, found objects, and modern accents. We found these two French high-back chairs in a local antique shop, needing a home. Restoring them back to their beauty, we refinished and upholstered them with a modern toile by Timorous Beasties.

The sofa was also a great find on another Sunday shopping adventure. We kept the worn-down wood finish for age and upholstered it in luxe linen for the ultimate farmhouse style. Bringing some estate history indoors, we removed these matching cherub statues from an exterior entry perched upon lichen-ridden columns and converted them into statement table lamps.

Blending generations, we mixed materials such as ultra-modern black steel doors and casing with a forged iron chandelier by Circa Lighting. We also juxtaposed the traditional elements with a diptych of modern fashion.

These matching beds were found in storage and rusted out. We coated them with a high gloss powder coat, in a bright blue for a modern appeal while dialing it down with classic pin stripe and floral bedding by Ralph Lauren. Whether siblings or friends, this guest room is a cozy weekend invite.

A neutral palette allows for a casually classic yet understated freshness. The natural wood armoire adds the right dose of country-esque vibes while keeping the aesthetic elevated with our custom carpet and tufted love seat.

Who doesn’t need a touch of whimsy? A few finishing touches, such as these iron rabbit heads brings a playfulness and functionality to hang your riding hat or driving scarf.

Wind down with a glass of our favorite local wine from Flowers on the Vineyard on the dual indoor-outdoor patio. Repurposing family heirlooms like this vintage trunk turned coffee table is a perfect way to modernize historic charm.
